Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our culinary team at Extendicare Van Daele Home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our residents' dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences, maintaining proper serving temperatures and adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Clear plates and trays, load and operate the dishwasher, and clean pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.
  • Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers, and adhere to established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assemble nourishment carts and stock units as assigned.
  • Participate in facility meetings and attend in-service education programs as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Fixing the Long-Term Care Act.
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care) Home 0-1 year(s).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Ability to read and write English and understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.
