Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation, serving, and distribution of nutritious meals to clients. This includes serving meals to staff and visitors, performing cashier duties, and following proper sanitation safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to clients
  • Perform cashier duties and handle cash transactions
  • Follow proper sanitation safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist with food handling and storage
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and staff

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
  • Minimum Grade 10 education
  • Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or equivalent Food Sanitation course
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications, Outlook/Email, and online training
  • Knowledge and understanding of all therapeutic and texture modified diets
  • Knowledge and understanding of sanitary food handling
  • Previous experience working in food handling and/or health care food services environment
  • Ability to lift items up to 1-5 kg (2.2-11 lbs) constantly, 6-11kg (13.2 – 24 lbs) occasionally, and 23 kg (50 lbs) seldomly
  • Competency in cash management
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Good work and attendance record
