Project Controls Analyst

The Project Controls Analyst, situated within the Enterprise Project Management Office, plays a crucial role in managing project timelines and financial data to assess project advancement against established plans in a fast-paced environment. This position involves participation in planning, budgeting, contracting, and various project management functions aimed at developing and maintaining effective plans, schedules, and budgets to support project operations while overseeing and managing adjustments to project timelines and financial forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement robust project control measures, including scheduling and cost management, to ensure the timely and budget-compliant execution of significant capital projects.
  2. Develop and sustain detailed and summary schedules and financial reports promptly.
  3. Ensure adherence to industry standards by all project team members.
  4. Monitor and identify critical path schedules, non-critical tasks, and potential risks, while enforcing the quality of project timelines, estimates, budgets, costs, and associated reports.
  5. Recognize risks and emerging issues in line with project risk management practices.
  6. Provide updates on project status, including Earned Value Analysis (EVA), and assist in project close-out activities while contributing to Benefits Realization reports and lessons learned discussions.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  1. A university degree in Engineering or a diploma in a related technical field or trades certification.
  2. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in project controls for large capital projects, with preference for candidates with experience in the electrical utility sector.
  3. Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk assessment.
  4. Formal training in project management methodologies, with preference for candidates holding a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  5. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel.
  6. Strong interpersonal abilities and a proven track record as a collaborative team member, providing leadership, support, and consultation.
  7. Experience in delivering effective presentations and training sessions.
  8. Capability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills.
  9. Experience in estimating/cost engineering and functional knowledge of SAP Enterprise Management System will be considered advantageous.
  10. Familiarity with scheduling tools, such as Microsoft Project and/or proficiency in Primavera Version 6 will be regarded as a plus.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be taken into account. Depending on the response to this competition, minimum qualifications may be adjusted.

A candidate eligibility list generated from this competition may be utilized to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
