Key Responsibilities- System Administration: Develop recommendations for design changes, improvements, and optimization of automation systems.
- Upgrade Projects: Lead upgrade projects and complete system implementation tasks to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Application Maintenance: Configure and maintain automation system applications and databases to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- OT Control and Communication Systems: Perform work on OT control and communication systems such as PLCs and DCS controllers to ensure reliable operation.
- Backup and Patching Processes: Perform activities to support backup and patching processes to ensure system availability.
- Microsoft Active Directory Administration: Perform administration tasks in Microsoft Active Directory to ensure secure access to systems.
- System Monitoring: Perform daily system monitoring using management and security applications to identify potential issues.
- System Installation and Commissioning: Build, install, and commission new systems to support growth of the infrastructure and maintain existing infrastructure with reliability and cybersecurity.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot system and network issues, and provide solutions to problems, including participating in an on-call support rotation.
- Preventative Maintenance: Ensure system reliability through scheduled preventative maintenance activities and document new technical procedures or update existing, as required.
- Experience: 5-10 years of related experience, including 5 years in an industrial environment.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Technology.
- Certifications: NBSCETT PTech Certification is an asset.
- Skills: Experience configuring and supporting OT networking and firewalls, experience in cybersecurity and best practices in OT environments, experience with computer hardware repair and replacement, and experience building and administrating Windows servers and managing servers in a virtual environment.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, self-starter, ability to multitask, and proven ability to effectively contribute in a collaborative team environment.
