Sessional Instructor: Introduction to Film Studies

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to teach our Introduction to Film Studies course. The successful candidate will have a strong background in film analysis and theory, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills.
Course Description:This course introduces students to contemporary theory and methods of film analysis. Students will explore a wide range of cinematic styles, genres, and cultural frameworks, with a focus on innovative and experimental approaches to global cinema.
Responsibilities:- Teaching and teaching-related responsibilities may include course outline development, studio preparation and delivery, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations.
- Responsibility for health and safety and meeting academic and curricular requirements and deadlines.
- A terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional/practical experience.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment.
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6, per 0.5 credit course, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
These positions are subject to budgetary approval and satisfactory enrolment levels.
