OCAD University is seeking a qualified Sessional Instructor to teach Introduction to Film Studies in the Faculty of Arts & Science.
Course OverviewThis course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to contemporary film theory and methods of analysis. Students will explore a wide range of cinematic styles, genres, and cultural frameworks through in-class screenings, lectures, readings, and discussions.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver course outlines, lectures, and critiques
- Grade student work and provide feedback
- Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
- Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6, per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
