The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a highly skilled Water Resource Management Specialist to join our team. As a Water Resource Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and adjudicating water use applications, providing expert technical advice, and fostering valuable partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and adjudicate water use applications to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders on water resource management and allocation.
- Foster partnerships with federal, local, and First Nations partners to ensure effective water resource management.
- Collaborate with the Water Allocation Section Head and other team members to develop and implement water resource management strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in water resource management policies and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a natural resource management field, plus 2 years of related experience.
- Diploma in a natural resource management field, plus 3 years of related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience may also be considered.
- Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area.
- Recent experience in BC with water allocation.
- Experience in consulting, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with stakeholders in natural resource management.
- Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management relating to water allocation and management.
- Direct experience and/or education in hydrogeology and/or hydrology.
