About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lending Support Specialist to join our Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the branch staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our lending processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Research and resolve operational and credit-related issues and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Liaise with third-party providers, including CMHC, Web Equity, CRM, and individual law firms and insurance providers, to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  3. Administer and review the accuracy of all security and loan parameters on DNA, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Provide accurate and detailed security administration for the bank's commercial or retail lending portfolio, including the preparation, registration, discharge, renewal, and overall management of security for all commercial credit.
  5. Prepare and dispatch solicitor's instruction packages, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  6. Fund and payout commercial or retail loans as required, adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
  7. Understand and apply back-office credit operating policies and procedures, providing updates to credit lending manuals and back-office procedures as required.
  8. Provide suggestions for improvement in processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of our operations.
  9. Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct and Ethics, as well as Security Laws and Regulations.
  10. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, ensuring the protection of sensitive information.
  11. Contribute to a positive work environment and the success of the team by openly assisting others and sharing knowledge and expertise.
  12. Participate in special projects/assignments, performing other duties as required.
  13. Support Operations and branch staff by performing sundry duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education in business or a related field is preferred.
  2. Previous experience working in a financial institution, preferably in a lending or lending support role.
  3. Four (4) years' experience working in a lending or lending support role, with a strong understanding of lending processes and procedures.
  4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize daily workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Proficient in learning new software applications, with a willingness to adapt to changing technology.
  6. Able to work independently, with a high level of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
  7. Acceptable criminal record and credit checks.
