Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensing Officer - Child Care to join our Community Care Facilities Licensing team in Vancouver, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and assessments of child day care facilities to ensure compliance with provincial regulations and standards.
- Investigate complaints and incidents related to child care facilities, and take corrective action as necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to facility operators and staff on licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including facility operators, government agencies, and community groups.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations on child care licensing issues.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in a relevant discipline, such as early childhood education or a related field.
- At least three years of recent experience in child care program management or a related field.
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of provincial acts and regulations related to child care facilities licensing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality care principles and practices in child care settings.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills in complex situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
