Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering design, with experience in design build, design assist, and full plan design services. The ideal candidate will be a leader and mentor, with a passion for sustainable engineering and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with intra-department engineers and discipline leaders in all phases of the design production.
  2. Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and final construction drawings.
  3. Apply codes or identify alternatives and solutions to building code exceptions.
  4. Inform Project Manager of changes to design and/or scope that may impact deadlines, workloads, or assignments of the team or project and project budget.
  5. Stay abreast of the project design and construction schedules. May provide input to client on CBE design schedule requirements.
  6. Control and monitor project engineering costs through the utilization of project management accounting software.
  7. Monitor project scope creep and work with Project Manager on delivery of any additional client service requests.
  8. Develop satisfactory client relationships to ensure repeat business for the firm.
  9. Attend project coordination meetings with clients as required and internal project coordination meetings.
  10. Remain up to date in developments in the profession and within the organization as appropriate.
  11. Handle multiple, non-routine projects with efficiency and accuracy.
  12. Participate and contribute to a team effort, exchanging ideas and recommending improvements.
  13. Actively promote and instruct others in the use of Company design production standards & master specifications.
  14. May assist in aiding CADD and Jr. Designers through technical instruction and explanation of engineering design concepts.
  15. Carry out special projects and all other duties that may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in engineering design. Experience in a consulting engineering firm or in the design department of a design build contracting firm is a MUST. You must have experience in the Design/Build space.
  • Proven success in interfacing with clients, resolving issues and achieving buy-in.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Possess a strong understanding of applicable codes.
  • Knowledge of Auto CAD and REVIT MEP as a drawing and production tool.
  • Ability to work and converse effectively with the firm's personnel at all management levels.
  • Proficient in Windows 10 and Microsoft Office including Outlook.
Education + Licenses:
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from accredited college, or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Professional Engineering License.

This job is performed in both an office and field environment. Some travel may be required with about 20% of work to be executed outside the office in the field.
