Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan. As a key member of our Information Technology Division, you will provide front-line IT support for our Enterprise-wide network, encompassing 11,000 to 13,000 end-user workstations and web site access.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform problem identification and root cause analysis for desktop, server, and network-related incidents
  • Provide technical support for all issues arising on workstations and peripherals, ensuring timely resolution
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for software and hardware installation procedures, user guides, and common problem issues with resolutions
  • Deliver on-the-spot end-user training as needed
Requirements
  • Knowledge of current desktop and network operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and 10, as well as commercial software applications used in a networked environment
  • Familiarity with personal computer and network hardware components, data communications hardware, software, and networking protocols, with emphasis on TCP/IP, Terminal Services Application, and Microsoft Server environments within an Active Directory managed Domain
  • Typically obtained through two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a Help Desk/Service Delivery Support role
