- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, steel, and other materials to create structures and fixtures.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Estimate costs and materials for projects, ensuring budgetary compliance.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
As a Carpenter, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and physically demanding tasks. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions.
Requirements- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
- No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant training and certifications are an asset.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions.
- Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to estimate costs and materials accurately.
- As per collective agreement.
- Permanent work term.
- English language.
- 30 to 44 hours per week.
