Job Summary:
The College of the North Atlantic is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Mining Engineering Technology Instructor to join our faculty team. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and assessment in the Mining Engineering Technology program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the learning objectives of the Mining Engineering Technology program.
- Teach and assess students in both classroom and shop settings, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and techniques to engage and support student learning.
- Establish and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and assessment strategies that align with program goals and outcomes.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of Mining Engineering Technology and post-secondary education.
- Contribute to the accreditation and quality assurance processes to ensure the program meets the highest standards.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with significant industry experience.
- Minimum of five years of recent relevant work experience in the mining sector as a Mining Engineer.
- Proven teaching experience in a post-secondary setting, with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with online learning platforms and technologies, such as Brightspace.
- Training in instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Knowledge of industry trends and developments in Mining Engineering Technology.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with the College of the North Atlantic Faculty Collective Agreement.
