It encompasses the oversight of enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, and other risks associated with corporate and investment banking operations.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The risk professional sought for this role will engage actively in pivotal credit risk and counterparty credit risk initiatives within the region. This position within the Portfolio Management and Governance team offers the successful candidate direct involvement in analyzing a portfolio of corporate and financial institution clients. Responsibilities include identifying risk drivers, overseeing transversal projects related to risk management, and managing relevant governance committees. Collaboration with colleagues from other Credit Risk departments, such as the Credit Assessment Group and Asset Restructuring & Recovery Management team, will be essential.

The ideal candidate should possess a robust understanding of credit risk methodologies and frameworks, assist the team in organizing and coordinating inputs from various subject matter experts, and contribute to enhancing risk oversight.

Daily Responsibilities:

The primary accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Portfolio Analysis and Reporting:
  • Generate and/or contribute to essential reports for Senior Management and Regulators.
  • Evaluate and monitor portfolio quality using key Credit and Counterparty Credit Risk metrics, including stress tests and debtor risk assessments.
  • Effectively communicate the evolution of the portfolio's risk profile, identifying risk drivers and emerging threats while assessing cost of risk requirements.
  • Conduct or contribute to ad hoc portfolio analyses using appropriate risk metrics focused on specific sectors or risk factors influenced by economic and geopolitical conditions.
  • Develop data-driven analyses and reports to enhance credit risk management effectiveness.
  • Implement necessary controls to improve the quality of portfolio analysis, including quarterly Legal Lending Limit controls and monthly Concordance Table Controls.
  • Collaborate with the Data Management Office to assess the quality of credit risk data and address various data quality issues.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of new regulatory guidelines.
Coordination of Credit Risk Committees:
  • Serve as the main coordinator for Credit Risk during Regulatory reviews and requests.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for Credit Risk during Internal and External Audit reviews.
  • As secretary for various feeder committees to the Credit Risk Committee, prepare and coordinate materials and contributions, presenting to key stakeholders including senior management.
  • Manage contributions to the SGUS Credit Risk Committee and the SGUS Enterprise Risk Committee, including proposing annual risk appetite for credit risk and monitoring compliance.
Governance and Digitalization:
  • Contribute to the quarterly Watch List process, managing entries and exits; perform annual Credit Trigger Back Testing.
  • Assist in the provisioning workflow in collaboration with the Asset Restructuring & Recovery Management team; prepare provisioning information packages and ensure proper provisions are certified and recorded.
  • Promote collaboration across Support Functions and Business Lines, enhancing alignment with Credit Risk at the Head Office.
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of Credit Risk policies and procedures.
  • Enhance Credit Risk processes through automation and leverage the latest technologies and collaborative tools.
Project Management:
  • Lead or participate in defined projects or transversal initiatives, either as a Subject Matter Expert for Credit Risk or as a Project Manager.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Credit Risk applications, systems, and databases.
  • Implement change management within Credit Risk driven by strategic projects for better integration within the local and global Risk framework.

Required Profile

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of credit portfolio analysis and credit risk metrics.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex metrics and derive insights to communicate core information effectively.
  • Familiarity with risk regulatory requirements and concepts.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python, with strong knowledge of PowerBi for data visualization.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of credit risk analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in application/system development.
  • Involvement in Project Management with multiple stakeholders.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential as collaboration with colleagues and partners is frequent.
