About the Role

Grand River Transit is seeking a part-time Bus Operator who is customer-focused and enjoys interacting with the public. As a Bus Operator, you will be a role model of safe driving and courteous behavior, setting the tone for a positive passenger experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a bus and transport passengers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to passenger inquiries and concerns
  • Maintain a clean and safe bus environment
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and transit staff to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
  • Hold a valid Class BZ driver's license and have at least two years of driving and customer service experience
  • Have a Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Obtain a satisfactory pre-health assessment and vulnerable police records check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have a valid G (including A, D, E & F licences) class driver's license and eligibility to obtain a BZ class driver's license
  • Have three years of driving and customer service experience
  • Possess a driver's abstract that is satisfactory to the Ministry of Transportation and the Region of Waterloo
What We Offer

As a part-time Bus Operator with Grand River Transit, you will have the opportunity to work up to 32 hours per week and progress to full-time. We also offer a program to upgrade to a BZ license for qualified applicants.
