About the Role
Grand River Transit (GRT) is seeking part-time Bus Operators who possess excellent people skills, are customer-focused, and enjoy interacting with the public. As a Bus Operator, you will be a role model of safe driving and courteous behavior, setting the tone for a positive passenger experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a bus safely and efficiently, ensuring the well-being of passengers and other road users.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to passenger inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean and safe environment on the bus and at transit facilities.
- Meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Class BZ driver's license and have at least two years of driving and customer service experience.
- Obtain a satisfactory pre-health assessment and vulnerable police records check.
- Be at least 21 years of age and have a Grade 12 education or equivalent.
What We Offer
As a part-time Bus Operator with GRT, you will have the opportunity to work up to 32 hours per week, with a minimum of eight full shifts per month, including four weekend dates. You may also have the opportunity to progress to full-time. GRT will cover the cost of upgrading to a BZ license for qualified applicants.
