Position Overview:

The Regional Operations Supervisor - Solar Farms plays a critical role in overseeing the daily service operations and ensuring the safety of customer assets within the Northern Ontario region. This position is pivotal in managing technicians and coordinating activities to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support field technicians in executing maintenance tasks.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Keep the management team informed about ongoing operations in the region, focusing on job quality and health and safety compliance.
  • Deliver professional feedback and assistance to clients as needed.
  • Oversee the management of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.
  • Develop and manage job quality plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate crew scheduling and maintain on-call schedules as necessary.
  • Conduct random safety audits and quality inspections to ensure adherence to maintenance standards and safety documentation.
  • Prepare reports to document site conditions, identify areas for improvement, and address technician performance issues.
  • Lead inspections and maintenance activities on medium-voltage transformers, breakers, relays, and related equipment.
  • Manage new and critical job assignments as required.
  • Provide troubleshooting support in the field when necessary.
  • Assist in the hiring process for technicians.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education in electrical or mechanical fields is an asset.
  • ABET/EAC certification is considered a plus.
  • 309A Journeyman license is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
