Luxury Retail Store Manager Job Description

As a Luxury Retail Store Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing sales teams, and building a strong client base in the area through strategic leadership and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business driving initiatives to build repeat business and attract new clients
  • Lead by example in building and maintaining relationships with clients, producing strong results from proactive outreach
  • Ensure each store is actively utilizing client books to generate increased sales
  • Model and supervise the selling environment, providing consistent coaching on sales training process
  • Ensure teams are compliant with client standards and thank you note policy
  • Develop and retain top talent, achieving financial success through coaching and improvement of measurable statistics
  • Network, recruit, hire, train, and motivate qualified sales teams to effectively represent and communicate the Kate Spade brand
  • Develop a talent pool to achieve succession planning goals
  • Provide specific development for store managers, assistant managers, and supervisors
  • Utilize mid-year and annual review process for employee development and advancement
  • Network and create positive relationships in the community to result in business generation and awareness of the Kate Spade brand
  • Strategically partner with the Kate Spade New York corporate team and serve as the primary liaison between corporate headquarters and store teams
  • Build strong business relationships with employees, vendors, and clients as a brand ambassador of the company
  • Ensure visual merchandising directives are implemented efficiently and visual standards are maintained at all times
  • Analyze and react to business trends regarding assortment, communicating sell-through, stock levels, and opportunities to increase sales
  • Communicate client feedback and quality issues to improve client service and sales
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures with integrity
  • Perform and supervise store opening and closing procedures, including counting register funds and securing facility
  • Conduct regular store meetings to ensure accurate and consistent communication with employees
  • Maintain payroll budget and weekly hours to ensure appropriate sales floor coverage
  • Supervise operational responsibilities to ensure timely and accurate processing of all markdowns, transfers, damages, shipping, and receiving
  • Oversee loss prevention policies and procedures to be 100% compliant

Physical Requirements:

  • Available to work store schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Able to safely lift boxes up to 40 pounds
  • Comfortable climbing ladders

Education and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years management experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment with a focus on clienteling
  • Multi-store management experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
