Job Summary

Opportunity Overview

This role is responsible for driving the development, implementation, and support of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions for applications supported by the Digital Branch SRE organization. As the Engineering arm of the Digital Branch SRE organization, this team will work collaboratively with the Delivery arm of the same organization and other IT partners to achieve its mandate. The incumbent will need intermediate knowledge and experience working in an application development and/or technology operations organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead code and non-functional reviews of all production-bound SRE solutions.
  2. Drive transformation by automating existing processes.
  3. Track, audit, monitor, and implement technical work streams.
  4. Act as a portfolio SME, understanding and documenting common components, core functionalities, and infrastructure of supported applications.
  5. Be an escalation point in the on-call rotation and support maintenance, scheduled work, support, and release deployment requirements.
  6. Drive incident management and problem management for applications in scope and RCA action items fulfillment/ownership.
  7. Focus on continuous improvement and technical standards, driving improvements in productivity, monitoring, tooling, and best practices.
  8. Manage technology currency, including server patching, certificate renewal, compliance, and automation opportunities.

Requirements

  1. Advanced knowledge of industry practices, with a focus on SRE.
  2. Advanced experience in various environments, including Cloud, distributed, and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, and databases.
  3. Excellent communication skills, direct style.
  4. Effective negotiation skills and stakeholder management.
  5. Ability to influence at the Director level.
  6. Hands-on experience in SRE languages and tools, including Ansible, Dynatrace Managed, Moog, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, GitHub, Slack, Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, Blue Prism, and Catch Point.
