Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President of Advanced Wealth Planning, the Lead Wealth Strategy Consultant is tasked with the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of comprehensive wealth strategies for our clients.

Utilizing their extensive industry knowledge and professional expertise, the Lead Wealth Strategy Consultant will deliver wealth planning support and enhanced services to our Advisory teams, focusing on business owners, incorporated professionals, and other affluent clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with current and prospective clients to assist them in articulating and identifying their financial objectives.
  • Maintaining a proactive and thorough understanding of all facets of the wealth planning process, including financial management, education funding, insurance and risk mitigation, retirement planning, taxation, business strategies, and estate management.
  • Leading the wealth planning process and consistently seeking opportunities to enhance the client experience.
  • Conducting comprehensive discovery sessions through document collection, communication with clients and Investment Advisor teams, and client consultations.
  • Inputting client data into planning software and generating various financial and wealth plan components.
  • Overseeing the delivery of wealth planning outputs throughout the process.
  • Reviewing wealth plan outputs and performance reports with Investment Advisors and their clients.
  • Identifying external assets and potential referral opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with clients' other professional advisors to ensure a holistic service experience.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with Centers of Influence.
  • Encouraging intergenerational wealth management among our advisors and their client families.
  • Working alongside Advanced Wealth Planning colleagues to facilitate training and educational initiatives for our Investment Advisory teams.
  • Assisting in the development and presentation of seminars on various wealth planning topics for our advisors and their clients.
  • Contributing to thought leadership in the field of wealth planning.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a wealth planning capacity.
  • Background in income tax and insurance is advantageous.
  • Experience with high-net-worth clients, business owners, and foreign assets is preferred.
  • Professional designations such as CFP, TEP, or CLU are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Conquest or NaviPlan software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse national team.
  • Exemplary professionalism that fosters client trust in discussing sensitive information.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Awareness of Canada's economic landscape, current events, and legislative changes affecting taxation and wealth transfer planning.
