Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Vice President of Medicine, the Clinical Leadership Physician will:
- Facilitate OPOR readiness and clinical practice standardization to elevate patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Engage with healthcare providers across various roles to promote effective utilization of clinical information systems.
- Assist in developing clinical protocols and documentation standards to ensure successful adoption of digital health applications.
- Act as a practicing physician leader, leveraging clinical information systems to enhance patient care and safety.
- Identify training needs and support clinician education on clinical systems.
- Utilize clinical and health data to drive service improvements and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for continuous system enhancements to maximize the benefits of clinical automation.
- Assignment of Physician Leads by service area.
- Active participation in departmental meetings as a representative.
- Engagement in Physician Needs Assessments for clinical areas.
- Collaboration with champions and subject matter experts.
- Direct communication with physicians regarding inquiries and feedback.
- Regular presentations to service areas.
- Contribution to design sessions for clinical areas.
- Advocacy for the One Person One Record initiative across the province.
- Medical Degree is mandatory.
- Current medical licensure is required.
- Experience in informatics is preferred.
- Strong listening skills to understand provider needs and recommendations.
- Recognized as credible and visionary with a track record of achieving results.
- Comprehensive understanding of technical issues with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Commitment to leveraging technology to enhance patient care.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory and risk management requirements for clinical information systems.
- Ability to create adaptable care pathways and order set management models.
- In-depth understanding of clinical workflow challenges and capabilities.
- Experience in clinical outcomes, patient safety, and quality management.
- Familiarity with the routine use of clinical information systems.
- Successful history of implementing healthcare applications.
- Background in medical administration, informatics, or public health.
- Expertise in data analytics and population health.
Estimated at 4-6 hours per week.
