About the Role:
The Meat Clerk is a key member of the Thrifty Foods team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers. As a Meat Clerk, you will be the face of our store, providing expert knowledge and guidance to customers on our meat products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs, answering questions and making recommendations on our meat products.
- Meat Sales: Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.
- Inventory Management: Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures.
- Store Maintenance: Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements.
- Training and Development: Participate in the training of junior staff and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements:
- Communication Skills: Above average communication skills (oral and written) to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
- Physical Demands: May be required to lift up to 20lbs, stand for long periods of time, and complete physical work including but not limited to bending, lifting, and reaching.

A comprehensive Total Rewards package, varied by role, designed to help our teammates to live better - physically, financially and emotionally. The starting salary range for this position in British Columbia is $16.85/hr.
