Job Title: Victim Services Counsellor

Vancouver Island Men's Therapy Centre Society is seeking a skilled and compassionate Victim Services Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to individuals and communities affected by trauma and abuse.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic professional to work with our clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for them to share their experiences and work towards healing. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of trauma, abuse, and mental health, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized plans for support
  • Liaise with other service providers and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of programs and services
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, counselling)
  • 2-3 years of experience working with trauma and abuse survivors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of trauma, abuse, and mental health
