Job Summary:

As a critical member of our team, the Flagging Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the safe flow of traffic in and around work zones. Responsible for controlling the movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and other road users, the successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure road safety practices are followed at all times.
  • Control the flow of traffic in and around work zones, utilizing proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of signage related to work zones.
  • Communicate effectively with other flaggers, Foremen, and team members to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and identify potential risks to workers and the public.
  • Must adhere to the principles of the company's Code of Ethics and examine situations accordingly.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a High-School Diploma or equivalent, as well as a Flagger/Traffic Control Designation/Certification. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in road construction is preferred, with 1-2 years of experience as a Flagger being an asset.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in an outdoor setting, often in inclement weather, and to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. The successful candidate must also be able to travel as required and work overtime when necessary.
