About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator to join our team at Helix Impressions Inc. as a Flexographic Press Specialist. This is a permanent position with a 30-40 hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mounting and Adjusting Presses: Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal print quality.
  • Production Scheduling: Prepare production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Ink Management: Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity to achieve desired print results.
  • Production Planning: Plan production methods to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate costs associated with production to ensure profitability.
  • Press Setup and Operation: Set up and operate the flexographic press at slow speed to check samples and ensure quality.
  • Training and Development: Instruct apprentices on press operation and maintenance.
  • Quality Control: Monitor regular press runs for quality using computer control consoles.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Remove and clean plates and cylinders at the end of press runs and set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Direct the press crew to set up, operate, and shut down the press.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week.
