We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Employment Counsellor to join our team at LEAD DISABILITY INCLUSIVE SOCIETY BC. As an Employment Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their career goals and participate fully in the workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Client Assessment and Support: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs, goals, and barriers to employment, and develop personalized support plans to help them achieve their career objectives.
- Counselling and Guidance: Provide one-on-one counselling and guidance to clients to help them develop the skills and confidence needed to secure and maintain employment.
- Job Search and Placement: Assist clients in identifying job opportunities that match their skills and interests, and provide support with job search strategies, resume development, and interview preparation.
- Referral and Partnership: Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders to provide clients with access to a range of employment-related services and resources.
- Program Development and Evaluation: Contribute to the development and evaluation of employment programs and services to ensure they are meeting the needs of clients and achieving desired outcomes.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work, counselling, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience working in employment counselling or a related field.
- Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, employers, and other stakeholders. Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, as well as best practices in employment counselling.
- Language and Cultural Competence: Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
