We are seeking a Supply Chain Materials Supervisor to enhance our operational efficiency.
This role is pivotal in guaranteeing a steady supply of both internally manufactured and externally sourced components to align with the Master Production Schedule and established lead times. This must be achieved while adhering to the raw and work-in-progress inventory limits set forth. Effective management of the Supply Chain function will be realized through the proficient use of existing and forthcoming systems, including SAP, alongside the optimal utilization of purchasing, planning, and scheduling personnel. A primary focus for the selected candidate will be the successful deployment of an enterprise-wide SAP system. Compensation for this position is anticipated to be in the range of $130-140k annually, contingent upon experience and qualifications. Health and Welfare benefits commence at the beginning of the month following the hire date.
- Leverage current systems and manual processes to assist the team in generating purchase orders and shop orders in alignment with the master schedule.
- Identify and implement strategies aimed at reducing component shortages while simultaneously minimizing raw and work-in-progress inventory levels.
- Oversee capacity and workload on internal work centers to achieve and sustain acceptable lead times, with a focus on continuous lead-time reduction.
- Develop and maintain capacity planning tools (PSI) to ensure adequate internal capacity and pinpoint constraints.
- Manage shipping and receiving operations.
- Collaborate with Purchasing teams to cultivate vendor relationships, reduce costs, enhance quality, and improve on-time delivery performance.
- Engage in setting inventory objectives; regularly monitor, control, and adjust ordering practices to meet or exceed target inventory turnover rates.
- Oversee material logistics functions associated with the component supply chain.
- Initiate and sustain an excess and obsolete inventory program; identify, categorize, and manage material disposition.
- Lead and direct a team of buyers, planners, and schedulers for the business unit, including workload management, performance oversight, coaching, and mentoring.
- Effectively guide the team through the SAP implementation process, ensuring operational continuity through ongoing capacity planning.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations team and solicit feedback on process enhancements to support the overall success of the facility.
What qualifications will contribute to your success in this position?
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is essential.
- Ability to collaborate across various functions.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication abilities.
