Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Courier Delivery Specialist to join our team at Whistler 99 Courier and Freightways Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods and packages to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to our central dispatch team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Preparation and Restocking: Prepare, package, and restock goods in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Trip Planning and Record-Keeping: Use maps and other trip planning aids to optimize routes and record trip information, including vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any issues encountered.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possess a valid Class 5/5F/G License (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles).
  • Security and Safety: Be bondable and maintain a high level of security and safety awareness.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads and working in physically demanding conditions.
  • Tools and Equipment: Possess steel-toed safety boots and a cellular phone.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate a client-focused approach, flexibility, organization, reliability, and a team player mentality.
  • Work Terms: Work on a permanent basis, with a standard workweek of 32 hours.
  • Language: Work in English.
