About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our team at CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd. as a key member of our legal department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Corporate Governance: Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate governance matters, including securities filings and compliance, acquisitions, financings, and commercial agreements.
  • Employment Law: Handle employment and labour issues, including research and analysis of legal issues and risks.
  • Litigation Management: Manage litigation and disputes, including drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on legal issues and risks, and provide recommendations to management.
Requirements
  • Education: Law degree from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate commercial and/or securities practice.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of public company legal requirements, excellent drafting skills, and strong communication skills.
