About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our team at T-Net British Columbia. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in driving business growth, ensuring compliance, and supporting our global expansion efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and execute complex contracts with customers, partners, and vendors to drive revenue growth and expand our business.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Privacy, Finance, HR, Marketing, and Governance, Risk and Compliance, to harmonize risk tolerance, manage compliance expectations, and set a pro-growth directive bound by appropriate safeguards.
  • Provide expert counsel on general corporate business matters, including employment relations across our global workforce and assist in our global expansion efforts.
  • Support research and product expansion initiatives to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Operate with relative autonomy as a trusted partner and advisor to our business leaders.
Requirements
  • Active member of the Law Society of British Columbia, with between 4 and 7 years post-call experience.
  • Experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer, with exposure to SaaS technology, cross-border transactions, technology M&A, or international privacy and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, SOC2) being considered advantageous.
  • Experience in driving and negotiating complex contracts through to close, often as the only negotiator against a team of negotiators.
  • Organized, critical thinker, with strong attention to details and great sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple closings, and meet established goals in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Expert collaborator who thrives on building relationships with internal teams in order to solve interesting issues and deliver results.
