Job Title: Senior Corporate Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team at Visier. As a key member of our Legal team, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, assisting in compliance and technology initiatives, and supporting our global expansion efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate, formulate, and execute on growth-impacting deals of varying complexity, including with some of the largest customer and partner organizations around the world.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Privacy, Finance, HR, Marketing, and Governance, Risk and Compliance, to harmonize risk tolerance, manage compliance expectations, and set a pro-growth directive bound by appropriate safeguards.
  • Serve in an expert role in relation to Visier's customer contract negotiations and expanding vendor and partner portfolio through various initiatives targeted at optimizing and accelerating Visier's growth.
  • Support research and product expansion initiatives.
  • Counsel on general corporate business matters, including employment relations across Visier's global workforce.
  • Assist in Visier's global expansion efforts, as Visier looks to move beyond its core North American operations.
Requirements:
  • Active member of the Law Society of British Columbia, with between 4 and 7 years post-call experience.
  • Experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer, with exposure to any of: (i) SaaS technology, (ii) cross-border transactions, (iii) technology M&A, or (iv) international privacy and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, SOC2) being considered advantageous.
  • Experience in driving and negotiating complex contracts through to close, often as the only negotiator against a team of negotiators.
  • Organized, critical thinker, with strong attention to details and great sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple closings, and meet established goals in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Expert collaborator who thrives on building relationships with internal teams in order to solve interesting issues and deliver results.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive base pay range of $130k - $165k / year + bonus.
  • The compensation offered will be determined by factors such as relevant qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills.
  • Many of our positions are eligible for additional types of compensation (e.g., commission plans, bonus, etc.) which our Talent Acquisition team will share with you if you interview for the role.
