Senior Project Manager (Bridges)

COWI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager (Bridges) to join our team of experts in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing bridge design projects, liaising with clients, and leading business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects with design partners and clients, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Participate in business development opportunities, including writing proposals and identifying new business prospects.
  • Direct and mentor teams of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed, maintaining strong relationships and communication.
  • Perform forecasting, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting for assigned project(s), ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Prepare construction drawings, engineering reports, memoranda, and other documents, such as technical specifications.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including site inspections and other tasks as required.
  • Develop team members in project settings by actively mentoring and guiding them, identifying development opportunities within projects, setting clear goals, and providing pathways for career growth and skill enhancement.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in Alberta, or can obtain within 6 months.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in leading bridge projects with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the City of Edmonton, and the City of Calgary.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management and as a technical leader with a proven ability to prepare proposals and review agreement terms.
  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills combined with great interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
