Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing various cardiac tests, understanding and recognizing the pathophysiology associated with these test results, and processing the resulting data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) and apply, process, and review data associated with holter and event monitors.
  • Apply blood pressure monitors and work collaboratively with various practitioners to facilitate stress testing.
  • Prepare patients for non-invasive cardiac testing to investigate cardiac abnormalities and level of function.
  • Analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
Requirements
  • Completion of a certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology.
  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT).
  • Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exercise tolerance/Stress testing experience within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater).
  • Experience within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater) performing stress testing associated with myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI).
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position working in an acute care setting. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with various practitioners and provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
