Job Title: Part-Time Professor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a part-time professor in the Faculty of Social and Community Services at Durham College.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in psychology and social work, including introduction to psychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, statistics, and quantitative research methods. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in psychology or social work and a minimum of five years of recent experience in teaching and research.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach a variety of courses in psychology and social work
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the college's academic standards
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of academic programs
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field
Requirements:
  • PhD in psychology or social work
  • Minimum of five years of recent experience in teaching and research
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
