Job Summary

The Brant Community Healthcare System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Services team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals in need of emergency services. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based, comprehensive, safe, effective, and ethical nursing care to all clients in need of Emergency Services.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide education and support to patients and families.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current emergency nursing experience is an asset.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certification (within 6 months of employment).
  • Triage Certification (eCTAS) (completed after 24 months of Emergency experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trauma Nursing Core Competency (TNCC).
  • Triage certificate in adult and paediatric populations.
  • Member of RNAO.
  • Self-directed individual with the ability to work both independently and in partnership with members of the interprofessional team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and personal development in nursing.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
