We are seeking Personal Support Workers (PSW) in the East York area, including Thorncliffe Park and Concorde Place. Experience the meaningful impact of compassionate care.

Compensation ranges from $24-26 per hour, with additional weekend premiums available.

Role Overview

Personal Support Workers are essential to our healthcare framework. At Spectrum Health Care, they collaborate closely with patients and their families, delivering personal assistance and support with daily living activities. The contributions of Personal Support Workers enable patients to recover safely from illnesses or maintain their independence as they age.

  • Deliver personal care and assistance with daily living tasks (bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding, etc.) in private homes or care facilities.
  • Continuously assess, anticipate, identify, and respond to the evolving needs of patients, while effectively communicating available resources.
  • Execute delegated and/or assigned responsibilities under the guidance of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Travel within the designated region to provide care to patients in their homes or facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Hold one of the following credentials (mandatory): Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited program or institution, RN/RPN Student with successful completion of the first year, or an internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
  • Possess the physical capability to meet job demands (e.g., ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach for extended periods; ability to lift 23 kg independently; assist clients with mobility).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
  • Updated TB Test (within the last 12 months).
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English (additional language skills are an asset).
