We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Dashwood Industries Inc., a company with a rich history of delivering high-quality windows and doors since 1928. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation as a trusted partner in the industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the manufacturing process by implementing design and process changes that enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve performance. This will involve working closely with our production team to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions that drive efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product design improvements to enhance quality and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audits for structural and thermal testing
  • Participate in Lean initiatives to drive continuous improvement
  • Design and implement new manufacturing and assembly processes to production
  • Analyze existing production methods and implement quick set-ups to improve efficiency
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives to drive business growth
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve problems and improve relationships
  • Design and develop fixtures, jigs, and tools for use in manufacturing
  • Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing and design problems to minimize downtime
  • Perform time studies to optimize production processes
  • Analyze Special Product Requests for Production and Purchased part requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong CAD skills and experience with design software
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills
  • Trained in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, including 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Set up Reduction, or Six Sigma
  • 3-5 years manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of production processes
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Product design experience is an asset, as is window and door manufacturing experience
