Position Overview
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the airport operates safely and efficiently during unforeseen events and emergencies.
We are seeking a Manager of Business Resilience within the Airport Operations Department.
Reporting directly to the Director of Service Delivery & Resilience, the successful candidate will oversee the emergency planning team, responsible for the management of the Emergency Management Plan. This includes developing guidelines and procedures to facilitate the airport's response to various emergency scenarios.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies related to emergency planning and facility life-safety systems.
- Fostering and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and business partners, particularly those providing life-safety services, through active participation in committees.
- Leading emergency planning initiatives and projects, including legislated major training and simulation exercises.
- Supporting organization-wide efforts in implementing the Authority's Business Continuity Planning framework.
- Providing guidance and support to a dedicated team, which encompasses monitoring performance, conducting evaluations, and facilitating professional development.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience in a leadership role within an operational environment focused on emergency planning.
- A bachelor's degree in public safety, public administration, business continuity, or a related field; or a three-year degree in life safety disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of multi-agency emergency exercise planning and execution, as well as disaster response strategies.
- Proven decision-making abilities and sound judgment in managing operational and emergency situations.
- Strong project management and communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and engage in public speaking.
