Job Title: Scales and Transport Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scales and Transport Clerk to join our team at American Iron and Metals (AIM). As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and goods through our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures to ensure accurate tracking of materials and goods.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers with a smile and ensuring their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Direct customers to the correct location within the facility and answer phone calls, redirecting them as needed.
  • Inform customers of current metal prices and weigh materials accurately.
  • Prepare shipping documents and ensure timely payment to customers.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring that all materials and goods are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform other related tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the facility.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer service or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience in the transportation industry is an asset.
