About the Role

Voyago is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to lead our Central Ontario Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Transit division, ensuring compliance with Key Performance Indicators, and driving customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence
    • Manage efficient vehicle utilization and minimize deadhead
    • Ensure compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements
    • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation
    • Plan, organize, and manage the work of staff to ensure consistency with organizational requirements
    • Implement schedule and policy changes
    • Oversee effective start-up and overall maintenance of local contracts
    • Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
    • Work with the Health & Safety team to conduct investigations and improve safety procedures
    • Follow up on progressive discipline
    • Oversee and report on KPIs, deficiency lists, and customer satisfaction surveys
    • Ensure proper staffing levels by working with the Talent Acquisition team
    • Plan and facilitate safety meetings and driver's meetings
    • Monitor spending and oversee divisional budget
    • Oversee payroll administration
    • Mentor, motivate, and resolve conflict management
  • Customer Service
    • Be the main point of contact for daily operations
    • Ensure compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements
    • Oversee daily operations communication, including STS portal information and dispatch system maintenance
    • Act as an ambassador for Transdev and increase visibility within the community
    • Create and build strong customer relationships
Requirements
  • University or Post-Secondary Degree or Equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory/management role in an operations environment
  • Experience in the Transportation industry is an asset
  • Full G Ontario driver's license
  • Clean driver's abstract and clear Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working in a dynamic, high-demand work environment with specific deadlines
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Willingness to participate in education upgrading as required
  • Proven financial acumen
  • Ability to travel within Ontario
  • Strong business acumen and ability to clearly communicate ideas
  • Natural people leader with a focus on employee and customer success
  • Professional written and oral communication, as well as impressive interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with the Central Ontario Region
