Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Feeder Replacement NDE Technician - Lead to oversee our inspection services team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and safety of feeder replacement operations through various non-destructive testing methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiography (RT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimation and planning processes for NDE projects in collaboration with project management.
  • Act as the UT Specialist during the execution of feeder replacement outages.
  • Manage and maintain all NDE tools and equipment, ensuring proper inventory and forecasting needs.
  • Coordinate with site management to prioritize work and meet project deliverables.
  • Conduct and supervise NDE inspections, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Document and report test results, noting any anomalies for further investigation.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the NDE team.
  • Provide training and guidance to contract personnel involved in NDE activities.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for outage execution and support inspection qualification activities.
  • Assist with additional inspection tasks as required, including feeder inspections and steam generator tubing assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Technician or Technologist diploma in electrical, mechanical, or NDE disciplines, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Certification as a CGSB UT Level 2 Technician; knowledge of RT and PT methods is advantageous.
  • Possession of PAUT and TOFD certifications is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of NDE methods and their limitations.
  • Willingness to travel for site work, with up to 75% of time spent on-site.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including experience in managing and reviewing the work of others.
  • Strong skills in equipment inventory management and maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficient in conducting tests to ensure quality and detect defects using NDE methods.
  • Experience in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
