Job Title: Apprentice Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at Sommerdyk Construction Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Apprentice Carpenter will assist experienced carpenters in the construction of residential and commercial buildings, learning and developing skills in carpentry, woodworking, and construction techniques.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of layouts and measurements for building projects
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites
  • Supervising other workers
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures
  • Erecting scaffolding and swing stages and attaching rigging
Requirements:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Working at heights training
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
