Our client is a leading manufacturer of aircraft, rail transportation equipment and systems, and motorized consumer products. With a rich history dating back to 1978, they entered the aerospace field in 1986 and have since established their headquarters in Montreal.
The Opportunity
We are seeking passionate and entrepreneurial Structural Engineering Integrators to empower customers and partners in evaluating, adopting, and expanding the use of our client's cutting-edge technology.
Your Role as a Structural Engineering Integrator
- Lead a team responsible for developing structure and system installation conceptual layouts for complete airframes on both new and existing aircraft programs.
- Collaborate closely with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as thermodynamics and mass properties.
- Work in tandem with the Program Management Office to ensure seamless project execution.
- Generate preliminary design studies and layouts using advanced 3D modeling software.
- Provide innovative technical solutions to address design or manufacturing challenges.
- Spearhead weight savings initiatives and contribute to overall aircraft efficiency.
- Offer valuable input for impact analysis, encompassing technical, cost, and schedule considerations.
- Directly support other engineering and operations departments, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Lead design and program reviews with partners and suppliers, ensuring alignment and progress.
- Manage design changes effectively throughout all stages of the change management process.
- Coordinate with external partners to ensure smooth project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Deliver comprehensive engineering documentation and maintain clear visibility for all stakeholders.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or a related aerospace technical field, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry or a similar sector.
- Possess a deep understanding of aircraft structures and/or systems installation, encompassing configuration, preliminary sizing, design for manufacturing, detail design (sheet metal, machined parts, piping, component assembly, GD&T), material and processes, certification requirements, weight control, and industry design standards.
- Demonstrate strong familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Familiarity with aircraft systems' overall operation and function is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CATIA V5, Enovia, and MS Office is essential. Knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is highly advantageous.
- Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French is a valuable asset.
