Position Summary:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and proficient Tax Manager to become a vital part of our organization. The Tax Manager will be instrumental in overseeing and directing various tax-related functions, including planning, compliance, and advisory services. This role provides the chance to collaborate closely with clients, senior management, and team members to deliver exceptional tax solutions while nurturing client relationships and promoting business expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage tax planning projects for clients, including the analysis of intricate tax issues and the formulation of effective strategies to reduce tax liabilities.
  • Supervise the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, and other entities, ensuring precision and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Offer proactive tax advice and insights to clients on a broad spectrum of tax matters, including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and the tax implications of business transactions.
  • Draft instruction letters for executing corporate reorganizations, estate and post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and transactions involving the purchase and sale of businesses.
  • Conduct tax research and interpret tax legislation and proposed changes to provide proactive solutions to clients and partners.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and team members to identify opportunities for cross-selling services and delivering comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance, training, and support to encourage their professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness to client needs, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Canadian CPA designation is required.
  • Completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course is essential.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in a public accounting practice, with at least three (3) years focused on taxation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to communicate complex tax concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional client service orientation, dedicated to building and sustaining long-term client relationships.

Pay: $85,000.00-$138,000.00 per year
