Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory and MRP leader to oversee inventory control, implement efficient processes, and optimize stock levels across our organization's various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Global Inventory Strategy: Create a comprehensive inventory strategy across North America and European markets, leveraging a global supplier base of 200 vendors.
  • Improve Inventory Turns and Service Levels: Develop complex analytics to continuously improve inventory turns while increasing service levels.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Initiatives: Lead cross-functional initiatives to achieve inventory targets, including structured depletion strategies, part rationalization, and manufacturing process transition.
  • Inventory System Optimization: Work closely with the Vention software development team to improve the performance of the inventory system.
  • Business Process Development: Support the development of business processes related to inventory management, from engineering to product management to operations.
  • MRP System Expertise: Leverage deep expertise in MRP systems to strategically implement and continuously improve effective inventory management processes.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Deliver comprehensive reports on inventory levels, turnover, and performance indicators, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making by the management team.
  • Process Improvement: Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • System Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify issues, and collaborate with the development team for prompt resolution.
  • System Requirements and Algorithms: Define system requirements and algorithms to improve inventory management practices and communicate opportunities with the development team.
  • Staff Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to staff members on MRP system usage and best practices.
  • Inventory Management Process Streamlining: Collaborate with warehouse managers or logistics teams at each location to streamline inventory management processes.
  • Transportation Cost Optimization: Implement strategies to minimize transportation costs and lead times while maintaining adequate stock availability.
  • Inventory Visibility and KPIs: Create visibility to inventory and KPIs through dashboard creation with PowerBI.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment and efficient inventory management.
  • Demand Forecasting and Replenishment: Work closely with the procurement team to forecast demand and coordinate replenishment orders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in inventory management or an analytical role.
  • Inventory Optimization Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in optimizing inventory levels and service levels in a data-intensive environment.
  • Inventory Mathematics: Deep knowledge of inventory level mathematics, including daily demand, safety stock, reorder points, and economic order quantity.
  • Global Supplier Base: Experience working with a global supplier base, including Europe, North America, and Asia.
  • Multi-Location Inventory Management: Familiarity with multi-location inventory management and experience coordinating stock transfers.
  • MRP/ERP Systems: Proficiency in using MRP/ERP systems for inventory management.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
