Position Overview: The Body Shop Manager is tasked with ensuring the body shop operates efficiently and profitably. This includes effective staffing, enhancing customer loyalty, managing costs, achieving set objectives, and maintaining all equipment, processes, and service records within the body shop.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, develop, mentor, and nurture team members to build a cohesive and motivated workforce.
- Supervise Body Shop Technicians and the Body Shop Administrator.
- Recruit, train, inspire, counsel, and assess the performance of all body shop personnel.
- Ensure prompt customer greetings and provide accurate estimates regarding costs and timelines for repairs and painting.
- Set and strive to meet or exceed departmental goals and objectives.
- Monitor and enhance the performance and profitability of the body shop.
- Prepare and manage an annual operating budget for the body shop.
- Design and execute a marketing strategy that encourages both new and repeat business.
- Stay informed about and comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations impacting body shop operations.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer warranty and policy guidelines.
- Maintain high standards for body shop repairs and painting, minimizing the need for rework. Conduct regular documented inspections of completed jobs to ensure thoroughness and quality.
- Establish and maintain a documented follow-up process within 24 hours for all customers to confirm their satisfaction with the body shop services and share feedback with the team.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience; experience in Collision and Body Shop operations is preferred.
