We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team at Anderson Blake Security Inc. as a Building Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent position that requires a strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies to ensure efficient operations.
- Conduct safety and security checks, and identify areas for improvement to enhance overall security and safety.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
- Work collaboratively with skilled tradespersons to ensure seamless operations and high-quality results.
- Work in various locations, including indoor and outdoor settings, and be willing to relocate as required.
- Handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Work in all weather conditions, and be able to adapt to changing environments.
- Flexibility and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong initiative and judgment, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Excellent organizational and reliability skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Ability to work 35 hours per week.
- English language proficiency.
