Position Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for cultivating and sustaining the Roots experience for both customers and team members.

Reporting directly to the District Manager, this role oversees the daily functions of the store, driving business performance while developing team members through a balanced leadership approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspire and educate the team to foster brand loyalty and achieve high performance for optimal store functionality and profitability.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a retail environment; luxury retail experience is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of sales achievements in a high-volume retail setting.
  • Expertise in visual planning and merchandising.
  • Availability for diverse weekly shifts, including weekends, closing, and holidays.
  • Promote a customer-centric selling culture and build brand loyalty through comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Provide continuous coaching and development in selling skills tailored to each team member's strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Actively recruit and nurture top talent for current or future positions, ensuring the store structure aligns with business needs.
  • Establish actionable plans to enhance individual performance and productivity.
  • Communicate customer feedback and quality concerns to the District Manager to enhance service and sales.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure visual merchandising directives are executed proficiently, maintaining visual standards consistently.
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures, including cash register management and securing the facility.
  • Maintain payroll budgets and weekly hours to ensure adequate sales floor coverage, adjusting schedules as necessary.
  • Supervise operational tasks to guarantee timely and accurate processing of markdowns, transfers, damages, shipping, and receiving, preserving inventory integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
