As a Lead Software Engineer on our team, you will play a crucial role in the ongoing maintenance of these systems, as well as in the development of new application systems through the modernization and integration of existing legacy platforms.
The ideal candidate will excel in a high-performance team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of new or modified application software products, from design to production implementation, including training and support.
- Utilize advanced knowledge to tackle complex tasks and support project and operations teams by sharing expertise and mentoring others.
- Lead efforts to devise solutions for intricate problems, either independently or by facilitating collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support for production processes by identifying appropriate fixes or temporary workarounds to restore business services efficiently.
- Deliver high-quality services to our Group Customer business partners.
- Engage collaboratively with our Group Customer partners to recommend designs, developments, and implementations of critical maintenance enhancements for application solutions addressing system defects.
Qualifications:
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Relevant industry certifications are considered advantageous.
Extensive experience in developing complex software products and delivering application solutions from initial design through to implementation and support is essential.
12+ years of practical experience working as a Lead Developer with leadership experience on large, complex projects in a collaborative team environment is expected.
Technical Skills:
- Experience in z/OS mainframe environments, including DB2, IMS DB, IMS/TM, or CICS, PLI, COBOL, and JCL.
- Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, Office 365, and IBM Data Studio is a plus.
- Knowledge of current IT industry trends and technologies.
A strong desire and willingness to learn and apply new software development technologies and programming languages is essential. This includes modeling expected behaviors, demonstrating integrity, building and extending trust, being accountable, and embracing the responsibilities of teamwork.
