Job Summary
We're seeking a Lead Level Designer to join our Design team working on Fortnite. As a Lead Level Designer, you'll lead a highly collaborative team to design and build content for upcoming releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Level Designers to create fun and visually appealing buildings, landmarks, and POIs for Fortnite Battle Royale
- Use your creative leadership to focus design efforts around building competitive and compelling gameplay spaces that achieve seasonal goals
- Collaborate with Directors to plan content that tells stories, pushing the narrative and storytelling in the world
- Work with Art, Production, and Directors to establish vision and plan content for seasonal updates and work with the Gameplay team to implement map impacting features to the world
- Represent the Level Design team in meetings and planning, championing rules, metrics, budgets and guidelines for creating content for Fortnite
- Attend playtests, provide feedback, and identify practical solutions to problems
- Mentor more junior members of the Level Design team, providing feedback, reviews, and growth planning
Requirements
- Prior experience leading a Multiplayer Level Design team
- Experience leading teams building content for a GaaS model
- Demonstrated ability to improvise and creatively solve problems
- Experience working closely and communicating with artists, and Art leadership
- History of designing and building multiplayer levels, ideally Battle Royale style play spaces
- Experience using a level editor (UE4/UE5, or similar)
